The lagoon is waiting.
Paje is a great base for your kite holiday. Plan your sessions around the wind and tides, and leave time for the island.
The spot & when to travel
The typical windy seasons run from June to September and late December to February. Paje’s shallow lagoon changes with the tide. Check the wind and usable water depth on the day; the season is no guarantee of wind.
Learning & riding independently
Beginners learn with a qualified kite school. If you ride independently, check the launch area, local conditions, tides and equipment on site. Even a shallow lagoon needs a sensible safety plan.
Getting here & your home by the spot
Zanzibar Airport (ZNZ) is the usual arrival point for Paje and the southeast coast. Your home is the Kite Villa in Paje. We collect you personally from the airport and arrange the details before you travel. Check kite baggage rules separately with your airline.
Four rooms are available from 11 January to 15 February 2027. Enquire about accommodation directly with us; kite activities are arranged separately.

After diving, allow an appropriate interval before flying or travelling to higher altitude, including safari or Kilimanjaro trips. The interval depends on your dive profile; agree it with your dive centre. Currents, weather and experience determine suitable dive sites.

Condor quotes around 9–11 hours from Frankfurt, depending on routing. Connecting itineraries include additional waiting time. Always compare total journey time and intermediate stops, even on a direct flight.

Via the mainland to the island
Dar es Salaam (DAR) is an alternative when the fare and onward connection work together. Compare the total cost to Paje: a flight to ZNZ or a transfer to the port and ferry to Zanzibar, followed by the journey to the villa. Allow extra time for immigration, baggage, possible terminal changes and check-in. A late arrival may require an overnight stay.
For separately booked connecting flights, check kite bag allowances and leave enough buffer for delays. Onward travel from DAR is not included in the villa transfer.
